Howard Hunter Ellzey Esq.
Howard H. Ellzey lives in St. Petersburg. Florida and has worked and works mostly in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater areas. He is a current member of the Florida Bar; the Bar of the United States Middle District of Florida, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association, and the Clearwater Bar Association. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and a Bachelor's of Science in Business Organizational Management from Crichton College.
He started in the legal profession performing litigation support and as a paralegal for large corporations and law firms. He continued working as a paralegal and law clerk during law school. He has extensive litigation and legal support experience in securities litigation; estate planning and administration; complex corporate civil litigation; business formation; employment law; civil rights; premises liability; wrongful death; contracts; complex transactions; eminent domain; real estate; construction; settlement administration: judgment collections; family law; and criminal defense. His legal training includes mediation and alternative dispute resolution, pretrial practice, trial advocacy, appellate practice, and oral arguments. He has been a paralegal or attorney member of various organizations such as American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Memphis Bar Association, Clearwater Bar Association, St. Petersburg Bar Association, and Hillsborough County Bar Association. He has appeared or assisted as a licensed attorney or in attorney-supervised support capacity in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Hillsborough County; Florida, Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pasco County, Florida, United States District Court, Middle District of Florida; and Florida Second District Court of Appeal.
He was a certified legal intern for Pinellas County Public Defender's Office and is a Notary Public, has supplemented his legal education with various seminars, including Estate Planning and Administration, Memphis; Legal Technology Seminar, Memphis Bar Association; Legal Technology, AAJ; Advanced Legal Writing for the Florida Paralegal, Tampa. He participated in the Trial Lawyer's College, dedicated to training lawyers to obtain justice and protect the rights of people.
Prior to joining the legal profession, he gained experience in customer relations, sales, communications, management, and dispute resolution. He has been an account manager, warehouse supervisor, and aircraft loadmaster. His military service includes nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare noncommissioned officer training. He was a squad leader in both boot camp and advance training and was a communications section leader with a top-secret military clearance in his duty station at a military intelligence unit. He was honorably discharged. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, Florida, where he has been privileged to serve various ministries.
